Product Analysis:
I think the most important points of packaging design are that the appearance is beautiful, and people look comfortable, the information is clear and convenient to let people understand the product content (material, content quantity, etc.), and the material is reasonable. However, the design of the packaging box I chose is very simple in shape. Although the packaging combined with cardboard provides a lot of space and good protection, the volume of the whole product is too large and takes up too much space. Because it is a square box, merchants usually put the goods flat or tilted when placing and selling, but all the information of the goods is on the back of the product, which may make some careless customers forget to check the product information when buying and may buy the products attached to the product but redundant for consumers.
Market research:
This product is placed at the bottom of the shelf, and because of the poor location of the information, some key information is hidden because of the direction of visit. The way to open the package is very simple, just pull out the latch on the side to unlock the whole box.
Comparison:
Figure1.3:Another kind of packaging
If you need to buy this product, I recommend buying the package of the above package. Users can clearly see the contents of the product through the transparent plastic, plus smaller volume, lighter weight and more convenient to carry.
Product 2: Instant noodles
Figure1.4:Front of outer package
Product contents photo, trademark, shelf life and nutrition facts list
Figure1.5:Side of product packaging
Figure1.6:Side of product packaging
Product Analysis:
This time the product I choose is plain packaging. This product is divided into inner packaging and outer packaging. The outer package is a paper box, folded and sealed with tape, and the inner package is a simple plastic bag. The target audience of this product should be mainly concentrated in the young group of 8-25 years old. The front and back of the package also indicate the product's trademark, name, net content, shelf life, nutritional content per 100 grams and product content. On both sides of the package are the ingredients, the bar code and the slogan. Although the information on the outer packaging of the product is complete, the biggest failure of this packaging is its color choice, because white and yellow are bright colors, and the product puts these two colors together, resulting in buyers hardly seeing some information about the product (such as the ingredients list of the product). The contents are stored horizontally inside the product. Although a lot of things can be put inside, there is almost no room inside, resulting in damage to the outer box, and the contents of the inside are also easily damaged (for example, when I bought this box at home, some bumps occurred, resulting in some damage to the contents). The outer packaging of the product is fixed by tape, which makes it difficult to uncover the side foot of the tape when opening the box, and it is inconvenient to provide a sharp tool to cut the tape. The design of the inner packaging of the product is simpler, only contains the trademark and the name of the product and does not contain the shelf life of the bulk product, if the buyer throws away the box after purchase, it is easy to find the shelf life of the product after a period of time.
Market research:
This product is placed in the middle of the shelf, and because the color of the whole package is more prominent yellow, I will be attracted by this product at the first glance, but after taking out the product, I will lose the desire to buy because of the monotonous design and unclear information. The way the product package is opened requires a tool to cut the external tape, which is very unfriendly to some people who do not have tools or do not have nails.

Product 3: Brewed beverage
Figure 1.12:Product packaging
Figure 1.13:Product packaging
Product Analysis:
The packaging I chose this time is a kind of plastic belt packaging for brewing drinks, because it is often bitter, so the target audience of this thing is more inclined to adults between 20 and 40 years old. There are two ways to open this package, one is the upper and lower tooth-shaped openings, and the other is the side cut opening. In terms of product information visibility, most of the products are in Chinese, with only a small English logo telling buyers what brand it is without introducing content information. On the contents, this product does not show the appearance of the product, but only the raw materials of the product. On the front and back, this product does not show information and shelf life, resulting in the buyer cannot know the best taste period of this product.
Market research:
This product is placed on the bottom of the shelf, because of its not obvious color and the location of the visit, the customer service cannot find this product on the shelf at the first time.

Product 4: straw
Figure1.16:Product packaging
Product Analysis:
The product I chose this time is a straw wrapped in a plastic bag. This product is made of transparent soft plastic outer packaging and internal product body combination. The outer packaging is recyclable soft plastic, made of hot melt sealing method, and the inside is the product body. The target audience of the product is widely divided, and the front and back of the package are marked with the product's trademark, name and internal product number (approximate). Although the information on the outer package of the product is complete, the biggest failure of this package is its sense of design and the use of materials. Because the internal product is a plastic straw with relatively fragile materials, it is easy to break the two ends of the product when squeezed, while the packaging material is a soft plastic bag, which cannot play a protective role, and the package is not designed with any preservation device. The opening of the package cannot be closed after opening, and the material of soft plastic makes the package very ductile, and it is difficult to tear the package by hand.
Market research:
The product is placed on the shelf, and many of the same goods are juxtaposed together, although you can directly see what the contents of the package are, there is no outstanding point between the same products, poor materials and touch and almost no design sense, so that people have no desire to buy. The product has almost no advantages except cheap, no- good way to keep, inconvenient to open and so on, which makes the design of this product packaging more failed.
comparison:
Different brands of the same type of packaging relatively better is the following kind of carton type packaging, although the two products are the same straw packaging, but the audience of this packaging will be more inclined to young groups, in the design and materials are more excellent. On the front of the product package, the name and content of the product are marked, and the status of the product contents is displayed. On the side of this product is complete product information and materials. The more suitable packaging and better design sense give these two products a great advantage in comparison.

Final Project: Merchandise and Promotional Strategy
Creating the Merchandises
Initially, I designed four different items: barbecue grill, knife and fork set, apron and mugs. But in the later activity plan, I changed my idea, replaced my goods and drew up an activity plan. Understanding the need for a practical solution, I decided to eliminate the product and table stands from our merchandise lineup. Instead, I opted for pins, tote bag, cold food storage containers and mugs. These items not only align with the practical needs of our products but also serve as functional and attractive merchandise that our customers can use daily.

REFLECTION
Experience
I learned a lot from this class. Before starting this course, I had never tried to design a package for goods by myself, and I always made some mistakes when carrying out the task, but I still completed this task after trying again and again. What I learned in this course allows me to apply more in real life.
Observation
In this task, many of my ideas came from what I saw and heard in real life, which made me feel very motivated, and I could apply the knowledge of packaging design in many places after understanding it. This task can also use some other professional knowledge, and this experience makes me more and more confident.
Findings
What I learned in this class helped me a lot. I can easily use some rules of analysis in reality. When choosing products, I will also use this knowledge to analyze the packaging of products from different angles before making decisions. After learning about this course, I think it is very interesting. Analyzing and judging the quality of packaging can also improve my summary ability.
