TASK 3
Task 3 Type Exploration and Application
Requirement
We need to create a font, and show where to use it, whatever the design of the font will be used on, design it in advance, and generate a complete font (.ttf) with the application at the end.
When thinking about where to use a font, be good at finding and judging whether the font is suitable for this object, understand the relationship between the font and the agent, ensure that there is room for modification and try more combinations. Finally generate the font application.
Process
Week 1- Week 2
Idea and sketches
First I need to search some images to find inspiration for what objects or images the font should be applied to.
I found some simple and sharp fonts, and planned to make them into posters or use them on music album covers, so I began to make fonts and think about how to modify and apply them to objects. The first attempt was also successful, with only a few simple parameters to adjust.

Feedback
Week 13: General feedback: In the display of fonts, pay attention to the personality of fonts and try to unify all fonts into a style.
Week 12: General feedback: Unify font personality and size, adjust font position to the correct position.
Week 11: Specific feedback: Import the font into fontlab and continue to complete the task.
week 9: General feedback: Keep all the production process and put it into the blog.
week 9: Specific feedback: Keep the style of the font uniform, and the elements of different letters should be related so that people can tell at a glance that these are the same font.
Reflection
Experience
task3 took about six or seven weeks to complete. It was one of the longest assignments I've done this semester, and I had a lot of problems making the font, such as the font size always getting wrong or the lines getting scrambled when importing fontlab. When I had all the letters adjusted, it was always uncomfortable to put them together into a single word, so I adjusted the kerning over and over again to make the font look normal. I learned a lot during my time in t3, and there is no way to make a work that others can recognize without trying again and again.
Observation
Through the task of t3, I found that the important thing to design a font is to constantly try and adjust it, not only by imagination but also by practice. If it looks strange when forming a word, it must be a problem with word spacing and proportion.
Findings
Make a font can‘t to rush, to adjust and modify more, only continuous accumulation can be recognized.
