Exercise 1 - Quantify & Visualize Data
For our first exercise, we are required to quantify (count) items of our choice and arrange them into a presentable layout/chart. I chose to complete Mission 1 by forming a hexagram with coins and sealing the edge with a coin, because the shape of the hexagram made of coins is similar to the stars used in Grand Theft Auto IV to warn the player of the desired class.
I put the coins together first to make four stars. So, I know how many medium coins I need and how many of each coin I need. So, I drew a chart on the white paper, rearranged four kinds of stars, checked and counted the types and numbers of coins.

For our second exercise, we are required to organize a group of information into a visual poster that combines and utilizes the LATCH principles. I chose to rank a model toy (GUNDAM) from low to high by making a product line.

L.A.T.C.H (Flip 1)
The following questions are included in the discussion of L.A.T.C.H:
1. what is latch
2. location
3. alphabet
4. time
5. category
6. hierarchy
L.A.T.C.H is a method of information organization that consist of these principles:
Location
Alphabet
Time
Category
Hierarchy
Be careful when using L.A.T.C.H, provided all Data can be reduced to five basic dimensions (location, Alphabet, Time, Category, Hierarchy) L.A.T.C.H is efficient because it provides an easy-to-use structured framework.
Below is the ppt of our group:

Chunking (Flip 2)
The following questions are included in the discussion of Chunking:
1. what it is
2. who invented it
3. infographic example
4. screen based examples
5. processes example
The first is to group some individual objects into manageable groups, such as based on patterns, associations or categories.
Organize information into smaller groups by using Miller's suggested "magic number seven", making the maximum number of units of information seven.
Improve recall and application, chunk information into smaller chunks to increase brain capacity and memory, and use effective shapes and colors, and text arrangement to identify information.

Manuel Lima’s 9 Directives Manifesto (Flip 3)
The following questions are included in the discussion of Manuel Lima’s 9 Directives Manifesto:
1. Form follows function
2. Interactivity is key
3. Cite your source
4. The power of narrative
5. Do not glorify aesthetics
6. Look for relevancy
7. Embrace time
8. Aspire for knowledge
9. Avoid gratuitous visualization
Works made using the above knowledge.
FEEDBACK
When counting coins and making posters, the lecturer told me that I needed to remember some principles and keep track of my steps at all times, not forgetting my every process.
REFLECTION
When I was making posters, I found that the layout and distribution of materials and pictures were very important, and changing the layout could make the whole poster look complete and more comfortable. In the task of counting coins, you can reverse the steps, and finish the pattern you want to spell out before counting it will be more convenient.
